Hi, Im Vikki and I am a Qualified Counsellor and Registered Member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society, offering counselling to adults, children and young people.

Counselling can be a powerful way to improve mental health, reduce stress, anxiety, and help us gain clairity about ourselves. It helps us explore our feelings, work through difficult issues, develop coping strategies and make positive changes in our lives.

Counselling can offer an invaluable outlet for processing difficult feelings, providing the space and support needed to work through complex emotions. Together we can explore your troubles, enabling you to gain perspective and consider what might be stopping you from reaching your full potential.

I have completed an Honours Degree in Child and Adolescent Mental Health and an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling so can work competently with children, teenagers and adults. I have experience of working with clients with a wide range of difficulties, including; anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, self-harm, academic pressure, exam stress, emotionally based school avoidance, bullying, peer pressure, parental separation, bereavement and more.

Diane Knight

Cognitive Behaviour and Integrative Therapist

Providing- Cognitive Behaviour Therapy / Rational Emotional Behaviour Therapy / Mindfulness Teacher

Hi there! I’m Diane, an experienced Cognitive Behaviour and Integrative Therapist, as well as a Mindfulness Teacher.

After experiencing the positive effects of CBT/REBT therapy myself, I decided to train as a therapist to help others. It changed everything for me, as it helped me safely challenge my irrational beliefs that I firmly held. These beliefs often stem from our childhood experiences (attachment with caregivers/parents), interactions in school, friendships, and romantic relationships.

Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT) is a type of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy that helps uncover the root of the problem, working under the ABC model:
A – Activating Event or Trigger
B – Belief
C – Consequences such as emotions, behavior, and thoughts.

CBT/REBT is an action-oriented and compassionate approach to emotional problems, personal development, and growth. It’s important to empower individuals to make the changes they desire by working towards their goals. I will help you navigate any obstacles along the way and teach you the tools and techniques I’ve learned, empowering you to become your own therapist so you won’t need me anymore. We can engage in short-term or long-term work depending on your needs.

Anxiety, stress, low self-worth, depression, phobias, OCD, and relationship problems are some of the areas I cover, but my expertise is not limited to these.

I trained nine years ago at the College of Cognitive Behavioural Therapies, based in London and Bath. I hold a Certificate, Diploma, and Advanced Diploma in CBT/REBT, as well as an Integrative Advanced Diploma in CBT/REBT. Additionally, I hold a Certificate in Mindfulness Teaching from Mindfulness Now.

I’m happy to offer a 15-minute telephone consultation to see if we would work well together. Check out my website or give me a call.

Laurel Deegan

Integrative Counsellor

"Laurel Leaf Counselling"

Hello, I’m Laurel, a qualified counsellor based in Plymouth. I understand how it feels to need someone to listen. Maybe you don’t get a chance to talk openly with the people in your life, or perhaps you’ve fallen into unhelpful patterns. With my support, we can begin to change this.

I work in an integrative way, meaning I can bring together different approaches depending on your needs. This always comes from a person-centered place, where I will work “with you”. Every person deserves to be seen as a unique, three-dimensional individual.

One of the biggest things I can help with is facilitating awareness. Awareness of your past, your relationships, who you are, and what you want. Many people struggle to recognise or express certain parts of themselves, but I hope with my help you can begin to feel whole and become your true self.

Sometimes it’s hard to find the words; in these times, we can try working in a more creative way if you find this helpful. Some clients may want a little more direction and I am happy to offer this where needed. It’s about figuring out who “you” are and what “you” want. I will do my best to meet you where you are on your journey and share that journey with you.

I work with adults of all ages. I have experience of providing counselling across different settings and work with a range of different issues, including anxiety, depression, stress, relationships, grief, identity, and low self-esteem.

– Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling

Vivienne Blackney

Integrative Counsellor

Hi I am Vivienne.

I am an Integrative Counsellor, which means I draw on a number of different approaches in our work together (Person Centred, Transactional Analysis, Gestalt & CBT).

I offer you time, space, empathy and understanding, supporting you to talk about your thoughts, feelings and concerns. Sometimes life events like bereavement, divorce, redundancy and relationship difficulties, leave us feeling stuck and lost. Or we may have been squashing down how we have been feeling for years. Sometimes we just don’t know why we feel this way. Counselling can help!

Being properly listened to, helps us to hear ourselves and to become more aware of our thoughts, feelings, ideas and long held patterns. It is that awareness that gives us the opportunity and choice to do things differently, and it is these choices that bring about personal growth and change.

If you are interested in starting counselling with me, then please get in touch by giving me a call or visiting my website.

Qualifications:

  • Level 4 Advanced Diploma in Counselling
  • Level 3 Foundation in Counselling
  • Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) Diploma

Doctor Jodie Barker

Chartered Clinical Psychologist

HCPC Registered Psychologist Practicitioner

Hi, My name is Jodie Barker and I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist. I am passionate and committed to providing a warm, empathic and supportive space to help individuals overcome the difficulties they are experiencing.

I have over 10 years of experience working in mental health. I have worked in both the NHS and private sector and am currently a Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist within Paediatrics. Often, we are not aware of the powerful link between mind and body. Learning how to nurture and care for both of these can have a profound effect on a person’s quality of life. I also have lived experience of receiving a cancer diagnosis and this has provided me with even more compassion and empathy for those living with illness and dealing with loss.

I continue to work across the lifespan with children, young people and adults. In addition to helping people deal with chronic health conditions and the secondary suffering that may come with these, I also have experience of working within a sexual health setting. I have worked with children and young people with a range of difficulties. These include: low mood, anxiety, OCD, eating difficulties and self-harm.

I use an integrative approach in our work together, to tailor the sessions to meet your needs; using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Based Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy. If you would like to find out more about how I can support you, then please contact me by email and I would be happy to answer any questions you may have!

Teri Richards

Integrative Counsellor

"Therapy with Teri"

Hello, My name is Teri and I am an Integrative Counsellor. I welcome people from all backgrounds and support clients with common mental health problems, like anxiety, depression, relationship and job issues. I also have experience of working with clients who are survivors of sexual abuse and domestic violence.

I understand that complex issues can require a much gentler pace of work, which I can safely provide. Through our work together we can formulate a plan for what aspects you would like to work on and go from there. There is no expectation for historic disclosures to be made, as these are not needed for us to work together in the here and now- We don’t always need to go back, to enable you to move forward.

I recognise that deep-seated programming can often come from living in and through traumatic experiences, including the coping strategies that may have been implemented in an attempt to keep ourselves safe. Alongside private practice, I also work at a local drug and alcohol service, so I have experience and understanding into the complex world of substance abuse.

If you have questions about counselling, please feel free to contact me for a no obligation chat, either via phone or in person. This will then help you to decide if working together feels right for you. I look forward to hearing from you!

Jane Murphy

Integrative Counsellor

"The Counselling Couch"

Hello, I’m Jane and welcome to The Counselling Couch! I offer short and long-term counselling to support clients through whatever they are facing. I can help you explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours by being able to talk openly and freely. Our time is fully focused on YOU – your thoughts, your feelings and your growth.

I am an Integrative Counsellor so can tailor the sessions to meet your needs, to ensure you feel supported and heard. Whether you’re dealing with stress, anxiety, past trauma or life’s curveballs; integrative counselling offers a personal way to work through it. It’s not one-size-fits-all, it’s about you and what feels right for you. Counselling can help to empower you by offering tools, clarity and a renewed sense of strength.  It can enable you to feel lighter, more grounded and in tune with what you need.  It can help you to re-connect with yourself, find strength in vulnerability and be a meaningful step toward healing, growth and clarity.

I have experience of working within the military, healthcare and corporate management and a particular interest in helping people overcome anxiety. The corporate world can be just as harsh as the streets, just in a quieter, more polished way – in a different language. Instead of physical threats, it’s emotional wear-and-tear. Instead of survival on the outside, it’s survival behind a smile, in endless meetings, under layers of expectations, swallowing emotions, and hiding stress.

I offer a space where you don’t have to perform, compete or explain yourself. It’s a place where you can be human – not just a job title or a role. A space to breathe, reflect and figure out what you actually need and who you are. You don’t have to carry it all alone.

If you would like to find out more then please take a look at my website and send me a message! I would love to hear from you and will feel privileged to walk alongside you as your counsellor.

Jill Davies

Integrative Counsellor

Hi, I’m Jill and I am here to offer you a warm and friendly welcome, to explore with you whatever may bring you to counselling.

During our sessions together we can focus on whatever is most important to you. You may choose to spend time discovering new things about yourself or work on things you would like to be different, to enable you to move forward in your life.

You lead the way….You set the pace! As an integrative practitioner, I can adapt the way we work together to focus on your unique needs, challenges and goals. Though our work together, I can help you gain greater insight into the difficulties you are facing, help you understand why you act or react to them the way you do and see how you can begin to make better, heathier choices.

I have experience of working with a wide range of clients facing all sorts of life issues including bereavement, anxiety, low mood, adolescence, ageing, parenting, caring responsibilities, cultural differences, relationship breakdowns, eco-anxiety, employment difficulties and many more.

After many years of working with a range of diverse communities, young people, families and charities, I qualified as a counsellor and have more recently completed extra training to add a young people’s service (for 11-18yr olds) to my offer.

If you or your young person are experiencing difficulties and would like to find out more about the counselling support I can offer, then take a look at my website and feel free to make contact, so I can answer any questions you may have.

Amanda Phillips

Hello and Welcome! My name is Amanda and I am a Counsellor and Integrative Rebirthing Breathwork Therapist.

I bring a creative and holistic approach to my work. I am down to earth, easy to talk to and hold a warm, safe space of non-judgment and acceptance for all that you may bring. My therapeutic approach is warm, authentic and grounded offering space for you to gently unravel what might be troubling you. I firmly believe that you hold the answers and innate wisdom to find your way forward, however sometimes life’s challenges can overwhelm us and we can lose connection to our inner knowing. This is where seeking counselling can allow space for you to see a clear way forward and resolve inner conflict and confusion. I will guide you gently home to your own truth and self-awareness.

I am able to bring a creative approach to the therapeutic work utilising art materials, sand tray, emotion cards and somatic body awareness through breath and movement. This can be helpful when words are difficult to express. I am here to listen and guide you to unravel what may feel stuck or difficult to express. I offer long or short term therapy and I am able to work with individuals from age 16 upwards.

I offer a free 15 minute consultation so you can ask any questions and determine whether we will be a good match for one another. Please feel free to call, message or email me to find out more or to book in for a free consultation.

I’m Emma, a qualified BACP counsellor with experience supporting individuals through grief, loss, bereavement, and trauma.

I work using a person-centred approach, placing you at the heart of the process and offering a compassionate, non-judgemental environment where you can explore your thoughts and emotions at a pace that feels right for you.
